Medusa Threadless Select
Yay, my Medusa design is available as a Threadless Select. Very happy to see it up there. The traffic to my portfolio has seen an increase, too, and that’s never a bad thing.
Secretly, my motivation for making this shirt was that I’ve always wanted a decapitated gorgon on a tee. Don’t tell anyone.

If you’re going to purchase it, here’s a link that apparently accrues redeemable points for my Threadless account. Yay, gluttony!

Awesome. If they sell a billion of them, they get reprinted and I get $500. Wait, check that, two billion.

What is the actual amount you walk away with from Threadless. I actually think their terms are pretty bad from both a copyright ownership standpoint and a profit standpoint. I could be wrong on the second point, but I’m definitely not wrong on the first.

They give you $1000, $300 in store credit, and $500 if the shirt ever gets reprinted. Not grand if you enter the general voting/spec submission side of things, but getting invited to do a Select shirt is much like any other paying job.
In the latter instance, where you know you have gotten picked and are not wasting time by creating a design and hoping the masses vote on it, it’s a good deal.

Pretty cool. You know, I’d love to see that Octopus Trilogy No. 3 one as a shirt too. I’d buy that in a second.

Thanks, Tony. Oddica, a great clothing shop, has the rights to print that image on a tee. I think they’ve been waiting for some other work from me first, but an email in their direction might not hurt - I’ve gotten more requests for that on a tee than anything else!
